Hi friends,
It’s been a wild week over at Coalition HQ, and I’ve got a lot to share with you.
—> Now that the season is coming to an end 😢 Lady Parts will be published bi-weekly. This will free up time to work on other projects over the summer and focus more on my personal writing. If you enjoy what you read here, consider subscribing to Redefining Radical. All paid subscribers of Lady Parts receive a complimentary 180-day subscription (if you missed that email, DM me!). If you, too, want behind the paywall, you can click on this link for 7 days of full access.
—> Yesterday in Redefining Radical, I shared how tariffs are the nail in the coffin for Coalition’s US-based manufacturing. If you own a Sojourner powder board or splitboard, you now have yourself a collector’s item.
—> I find myself growing increasingly passionate about supporting small businesses and helping them succeed. I believe so strongly that they are the backbone of our communities—what they bring in terms of culture and creativity is unmatched. It’s why I created a women-owned marketplace, it’s why you’ll see more features of other businesses in Coalition’s regular emails (if you aren’t signed up for those, head on over to the website), and it’s why I’ve been designing small group offerings to help them thrive. I’ve got one coming up in June called 💌 Full Send 💌. It’s open to all creatives, business owners, marketers, writers, or anyone who is sick of the scroll and email curious.
—> When I grow up, I want to be like Jasmine Crockett.
—> I’m ready for some loungy, bubble drink in hand summer reading, and Roxanne Gay’s new book The Portable Feminist Reader is at the top of my list. It feels like a book worth discussing and quite easy since it’s a series of short essays, but I don’t want to do it over Zoom. I’m going to experiment with a group chat book club in Substack. Stay tuned for details!
—> The anti-feminist “womanosphere” is shit.
—> It’s time to ride bikes! Come say hello to me at Ladies of the Loam where I’ll be popping up at the very first all-women's mountain bike enduro and festival in California and offering free simple bike repairs. Get the details here.
—> IDK about you, but I need something to look forward to. In the next week or so, I’ll be re-listing our trips to Japan, Kenya, and Mount Bachelor for 2026, and hopefully adding Targhee and possibly snowcat skiing in Georgia, the country, not the state 🤞🏻.
That’s it for me! TBH, writing about our manufacturing in such detail and honesty took it out of me, so I don’t have much left in the tank. I’m so grateful that you’re here—I’d love to hear from you so don’t leave that comment section empty. And I hope you found some time to get outside and touch grass this week.
xxoo,
Jen
